
It’s been a year of new releases and enhancements at Rosy Salon Software. These features were designed to make life easier for salon owners, managers, hairdressers, and receptionists.

Text Message Marketing
One of the top new Rosy features for this year is Text Message Marketing. Texting has proven to be a preferred way to communicate for many people. With the addition of this much-anticipated communication tool, you can now send a one-time message or build ongoing campaigns for your clients. Send an individual text to remind a client to schedule their next appointments or message a group to share anything you’d like.
With Automatic Text Message Marketing features, your staff can streamline communications like never before. This powerful tool lets you set it up once and walk away, with automated messaging to your clients on your behalf.
With a simple one-time setup, send your clients automated texts for:
- Happy Birthday greetings – hip, hip, hooray!
- Due Back Soon – when they haven’t booked their next appointment
- We Miss You – for when it’s simply been too long
- Running Low reminders – estimated use-up time for recommended products

Curbside Check-In
Start your client’s appointment off right with curbside check-in. This convenient new feature supports today’s contactless processes. From the safety of their car, your clients can now check-in via text message. Their appointment status changes color on your salon’s schedule, and their stylist receives a text message that notifies them that their client has checked in. How convenient is that?
In-House Notifications
In a busy salon, communication is key. Now you can send quick notifications to your staff any time you’d like. Notifications can come from you or your team and can be sent to specific team members as desired.
Messages can also come from SalonRunner for updates, new releases, and other important information.
Notifications appear in red when any logging in – just look for the bell icon in the upper right of the menu. Recipients of notifications can also reply to messages, which will improve the efficiency of all communications.

Custom Service Fee
This new feature lets you automatically add a service fee to each guest visit to cover Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Green Circle, or other expenses.
Appointment Schedule Enhancement Notes
With this update to the appointment notes, an icon appears on the client’s appointment on your schedule, which indicates that a message is attached. This is a great way to add comments, instructions, or general notes, which conveniently pop up so service providers always have access to the information they need. Learn more about client notes.

Custom Payment Types
Another feature for the year, Custom Payment Types lets you add Groupon or debit accounts. This much-anticipated feature helps you to get creative with how you run your business.
Communications When Canceling or Rescheduling Appointments
You now have the option to send either a text or email communication when canceling or rescheduling Online Client Scheduling appointments. The ability to send the client an email or text is based on whether they have agreed to receive communications from the salon or not. If they had requested not to receive any messages, the options will not display.
Custom Service Instructions
Communicate any pre-service instructions to your client using the new custom service instructions. Look for the service instructions box on the edit service screen to add specific instructions for any service. When a client books an appointment for services with service instructions, those instructions will appear on their appointment confirmation email.
Email Receipt Custom Message
These custom messages are a great way to share your online client scheduling, website, or online store link at the bottom of your receipts. You can also ask clients to leave a review or you can announce a new service, promotion, event, etc. The possibilities are virtually endless. If nothing else, send a little love by thanking clients for their loyalty, wishing them a good day, or even adding a favorite affirmation to brighten their mood. It’s the little things that can make a big impact.

Automatic Schedule Refresh
Now you can see real-time changes to your schedule with automatic schedule refresh. You might have noticed a little icon that has suddenly appeared on the schedule…give that guy a click, and it will turn green to enable automatic schedule refresh. See any changes to the schedule in real-time without having to refresh the page.

Adjusting Times By Dragging
This super-slick update to the schedule gives you the ability to adjust the time of an appointment with a drag-and-extend action. Simply click directly on the appointment and drag it down or pull it up to adjust the duration. No more opening the appointment to change the duration — just drag and extend the appointment to add whatever amount of time you need.

Updates Gift Card Purchased Email
When a client purchases a gift card, there is now a Book Now button on the email they receive. This will give the client a quick and easy way to book an appointment right when they receive the gift card.
Add Percentage Tip
Some clients don’t like calculating tips in their heads, so we’ve added the option for them to tip based on percentage. Look for the new tip screen that now gives the opportunity for amount or percentage.
Sharable Online Customer Scheduling Link
Now it’s super-easy to share your OCS link on social media. Post to Facebook or Twitter in a flash – just a quick copy, paste, and share.
